Salvadorian Tamale

What is a Tamale?

A tamale is one of the first "take-out" foods, originating way back between 8000 and 5000 B.C. They're made of a steamed corn dough called "masa" and filled with a variety of things depending on where they're coming from and the type of tamale being made.

At Los Comales, we have Salvadorian tamales. Salvadorian tamales are steamed in banana leaf and are filled with chicken, vegetables and salsa.
